Infiniti announces U.S. pricing for 2009 FX line
December 31st, 1969
Parent company Nissan saw sales growth of nearly 6% in May while the luxury Infiniti brand slipped by a similar amount. The new G37 Coupe and EX crossover sold well, however, and similar hopes are held for the recently announced FX. Pricing details of the new model have just been revealed ahead of the start of sales later this month.
The FX line comes in three flavors: the FX50 AWD, the FX35 AWD and the FX35 RWD. The new FX50 is built around a 5.0L V8 engine generating 390hp and 500Nm of torque. Both FX35s get a 303hp 3.5L V6. Both AWD versions come standard with Nissan's ATTESA-E TS intelligent AWD and all three share the seven-speed automatic transmission. For more specifics on the new FX50, read our coverage of its March reveal.
Pricing for the FX35 RWD starts at $40,950, the FX35 AWD starts at $42,350 and the range-topping FX50 AWD starts at $56,700. Those prices put the FX within a few thousand dollars of BMW's X5 and X6 offerings, and right in line with Mercedes' ML350 and ML550 SUVs. Performance figures and equipment levels also stack up well against its German competitors, making the Infiniti a true competitor on both price and features.
