Porsche announces U.S. pricing for 2009 Cayenne

Just a few days ago word broke that Porsche would be rescinding its 'no diesels' policy for the 2010 Cayenne, and today the company has released pricing for the 2009 model. Small increases across the board reflect the weak U.S. dollar and rising materials costs, but are well within normal price growth ranges.
Starting at the base level, 2009 Cayenne SUVs will be priced from $45,495, a rise of $1,200 over 2008 model prices. The Cayenne S and GTS see similar price increases to $60,295 and $71,795, respectively, while the Cayenne Turbo gets the largest jump in price of $4,000 to $98,595. The all-new Cayenne Turbo S enters the SUV range right at the top, and starts at an asking price of $124,495, reports Automotive News.
A range of small improvements accompanies the price bumps, including slightly larger brakes, larger standard 19-inch wheels and an updated Porsche Communication System version 3.0 will be standard on the Turbo and Turbo S. The PCM 3.0 system includes XM traffic updates,iPod integration, Bluetooth phone support and a hard disk nav system.
Unlike many automakers, sales of the Porsche's large SUVs are actually up through May, with the Cayenne selling nearly 1,200 units, an increase of 6.5% over May 2007. The new Turbo S will arrive at Porsche dealers August 8.

Man I thought the GTS was the top model, the way it is done up with that body work you would think it is. I dont think that they need that many models though, whats next the "cayenne sport turbo gts"

yeah i agree, porsche will probably Just keeping adding more and more versions till the words don’t fit on the tail gate, till you have some monstrosity suv----- "Cayenne gts sport turbo gt6 targa 4s" starts at $176,547 give me a break. Just eliminate the turbo version, cause the only people that buy it want the best of the best.

I like range rover’s model range-- a normal version, and a supercharged version. Hell just eliminate the GTS, and offer that body work as an accessory, and get rid of the turbo, because the above comment is right, the only people who buy the turbo are going to want the best of the best anyways. Way too many models, remember its an SUV, not a sports car, whats the use for this super dooper “turbo S”. USELESS.

When did "the only people that buy it want the best of the best" become a good reason to not make a car/truck/SUV?
This isn't communism for God's sake. So what if rich people want a fast as hell SUV, it's their damn money. If you're not interested then don't buy it, it doesn't affect you in any way at all.

ahh skyline if you read the comment made above he is saying eliminate some of the models because it is a waste. he isnt saying dont make the cayenne period, he is saying dont make so many models.

hey skyline, the above quote is saying discontinue the turbo, because people who had that vehicle will want the more powerful version, because people who bought that version in the first place will want the turbo S, communism has nothing to do it.
