Chevrolet announces pricing for 2009 Traverse SUV
December 31st, 1969
Revealed in February, the replacement for the long-lived TrailBlazer comes in the form of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse crossover SUV. Today Chevrolet announced pricing for the new vehicle, with prices to start at $28,990.
The Traverse will share its basic build with the Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. Available in three trim levels including LS, LT and LTZ, the Traverse will also be available in both FWD and AWD configurations. The GM global 3.6L V6 unit found in several other cars will also power the new crossover, managing V8-levels of power with lower CO2 emissions.
A six-speed automatic is the only transmission available, though buyers can choose from a range of wheels, including 17, 18 and 20-inch options. A full slate of airbags, including front, side and curtain airbags cover all three rows of seating. Available features include an OnStar-based navigation system, XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth hands-free phone functionality.

I don't get how they can release this... and delay the more efficient, more in-line with what consumers seem to want, Saturn Aura.

first of all, this is a CUV.. significantly lighter. second of all, it's replacing an SUV. its basically a hopped up station wagon replacing a truck. currently GM only has two truck/suv platforms. the big three are inticing SUV owners to move towards crossovers like big (full frame) car owners were enticed to move towards unibody cars 20 years ago. its the same crap all over again. some one isnt going to trade in their denali for a cobalt. people are far too stupid make a major change like that
