December 31st, 1969 Germany’s Edo Competition is an expert when it comes to modifying ultra-rare exotics so who better to tune one of Lamborghini’s fastest and most hardcore cars ever produced – the limited edition Murcielago LP640. Squeezing more power from the car’s highly strung V12, where peak power levels are developed at rpm levels close to 8,000rpm, is no easy task but the tuners at Edo have managed to churn out a healthy 710hp (522kW) at 7,625rpm. Combined with a max torque of 516lb-ft (700Nm) at 6,400rpm, the Edo Competition Lamborghini Murcielago LP710-2 will sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds, reach 200km/h in less than 10 seconds, and go on to reach a top speed of more than 360km/h. The increase in power was achieved via the addition of a new high flow catalytic converter, new exhaust headers, a carbon fiber air intake system and a recalibrated ECU. Engineers also added an exhaust valve system that can modify the volume of the exhaust system at the push of a button, performance camshafts and modified cylinder heads. The power upgrade is combined with a new aerodynamics package consisting of a new rear wing with an adjustable lip. To keep weight down, Edo Competition has replaced the standard AWD set-up with a new single disc clutch, turning the car into a rear-driver.     yeah, it reminds me of the diablo too. lambo should look to that for inspiration, kinda like porsche and the 993! the murci has always been a little too smoothed out and not as interesting i think.

    I'm surprised how quick this thing can get to 60 without the AWD, since it's a pretty light car, and was designed with the AWD in mind...

    I am confused by the shedding of a 4WD system that really wasn't much of a 4WD system in the first place. It seems that the focus of such a project would be to increase 1/4 mile drag capabilities and off the line speed, and maybe even make the car a little more difficult to drive...
