Facelifted Mercedes Benz S-Class brochure leaks

December 31st, 1969 The 2010 Mercedes Benz S-Class has officially been launched. Click here for all the details and images. The current generation Mercedes Benz S-Class and its associated AMG performance models have been on the market since the middle of the decade and are due to receive a minor update later this year to keep them fresh for their rivalry with the recently revealed BMW 7-series and next-generation Audi A8 arriving in 2010. Recent prototypes seen testing in Germany and the U.S. reveal that the only major exterior updates for the car are a set of new bumpers, new side mirrors, and revised headlights. Scans of a brochure for the new car have surfaced on the Internet, revealing every detail and technological update, albeit in German. New LED headlights, shown clearly in the scans, will be among the updates. The thin strip of LEDs serves to give the front end of the car a more modern look without spoiling the car's reserved lines with a garish grille or extra-large intakes. Some of the other new features were previewed recently at an event in Leipzig, including driver assistance systems, advanced radar and camera based sensing technology, intelligent situational awareness software, and electronic crumple zones. As for the new car’s powertrain lineup, most engine options will likely remain the same, but there will be a few new models, including the S400 Bluehybrid.2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift spy shotsMercedes E-Class and S-Class safety features for 20092010 Mercedes Benz S-Class facelift

  1. what is happening on this car, make the bottom of the grill sharper is that a joke. And the projector fog lamps look like somethin out of some power ranger show. I hope they don't make any sales off of this car.

  2. I like the front end, it's the bangle-butt back end I have a problem with.

  3. I actually have more taste than money so if I could afford a car in this class I'd pick the A8.

But I have one question: Will MB be doing anything to remedy what is - without question - the ugliest and most disgusting interior in a luxury car EVER?

  4. Looks like some of the cues from the F700 concept, not too much but they are there.

  5. Hector, what are you smoking, the S-class sets the standard in this class of vehicle, the A8 and the BMW 7-series are trying to catch up to topple it.

  6. The S Class maybe the most refined and luxurious of the A8, 7Ser, but the A8 is the most subtle and classier. The S Class wreaks nouveau now. The 7 Ser would be my choice though.

  7. the S-class shows power out of people, the A8 shows class and the 7ser shows sportiness. But, the S-class almost excels in every catagory anyone can throw at it. Just come down to ny and 4/5 luxury cars are S-classes

  8. Still hate the butt.

  9. Justin: You just said it all: NYC. Same thing in Miami and likely in LA. So basically we're talking about places where people have a lot more money than taste or class.

  10. Hey, I live in LA and I have no money OR class, so I take issue with that! :)

  11. Still the standard for the class, though I am wondering if MB is throwing a DiesOtto engine in there some day.

  12. still not liking the back =/

its bgining to look like they wont ever change it ='(

still best in class though =D

  13. Still take this over the A8, the 7 series, and the Lexus

  14. You know you probably can't afford an S Class when you walk into the showroom and buy an S250 CDi. Nothing says unsuccesful more than that on the back of a Merc. Even those in a 320/350 will laugh at you.

  15. big deal

  16. ok wow i thought the S-class already had LED's. Good job mercedes for falling behind

  17. These are LED headlights justin, the S-class already has LED tail lights

  18. danDan, that engine is a good idea for countries like China where if you have an engine larger then a certain size (Think it is 2 liters in range) you get hit by taxes.

  19. the s claas is the best car in the world

  20. the s claas is the best car in the world

  21. [

  23. danDan I have a 320 and nothing is wrong with that. Anyway who would walk into a show room and see the A8, 7S ans a S class and wouldnt pick an S class. True quallity and status.

  24. The S-class is too nouveau riche; I'll take an Escalade with 26" rims, lamborghini doors, 12 TV screens and an unnecessarily powerful sound system over that German monstrosity any day of the week.
