Renault is expected to launch its new Megane Sedan later this year along with the Grandtour wagon and Cabrio models
Enlarge PhotoWe’ve already seen a preview of the high-performance coupe in the form of the 2008 Megane Coupe Concept from the Geneva Motor Show last year, and now we can have an early look at prototypes for the upcoming Sedan thanks to these latest spy shots.
As expected the Sedan will essentially be the five-door Hatchback but with a proper trunk and rear deck lid. The car should also feature its own unique taillamps, and its roof will also be slightly lower than the Hatchback.
The engine lineup should mirror those of the Hatchback, meaning there will be a range of petrol engines displacing between 1.6L and 2.0L and developing up to 225hp (168kW) in the turbocharged performance models. Diesel fans will be able to choose from the current 1.5L and 1.9L dCi turbodiesel units, ranging in power from 89hp (66kW) to 178hp (132kW). Direct injection appears to be off the table for this round of updates due to cost considerations.

I know we get Nissan, but I wish we got Renault, their styling is different and I like it, it is distinctive.
