The sighting of the Falcon test-mules in the U.S. backs recent reports that Ford's new RWD architecture will borrow technology from the new Australian sedan, which makes sense as the new platform will eventually spawn the next-generation Falcon as well as a new Mustang, reports The Car Connection. Other cars earmarked for the new RWD platform include several future Lincoln and Mercury models as well as a replacement for the aging Crown Vic.
Generations of the RWD Falcon sedan date back more than 20 years so like their Holden counterparts Ford’s Aussie engineers know a thing or two about creating big RWD saloons. Another reason why we may see more of an Australian influence in Ford future RWD program is because of Ford boss Alan Mulally’s love of the new Falcon, which he personally wants to drive back in America.

Another car wit the world's cheapest interior and a engine with the same horsepower as porsches but these fords take 1 second slower to hit 60 with not much mass difference. Another ford where wanabes cant afford anythin better so they buy this junk car that get 12 mpg. the same mpg a lamborghini makes but the lambo makes double the hp. god bless america

I think justin must have been poked one too many times in the head by his dad while still in his mommy's womb. There are so many reasons why your comment is idiotic but here are a few:
First comparing a 30K car with a 100K car is ridiculous. The Ford has four doors and can comfortably sit 5 people. This car also gets much better 12mpg.
I admit Ford may not have the best interior - but world's cheapest? Justin you don't have a clue what you're talking about.

The Falcon is a terrific car. The latest model, the 9th generation FG Falcon has a tremendous interior and will in base form achieve 29mpg average (36mpg hwy), accelerate to 60mph in 7s. The higher spec models will break 13 dead for the quarter mile.
So impressed by this car, new Ford chief has ordered one for himself to drive in the US, and says it's far better than the Lexus GS430 he used to have when he was with Boeing.
This could be just the thing to fix Fords issues in the US. Their European product is class best.

maybe i miss understood your comment but the Falcon is Australian and not European !
The best RWD large sedans and sedna based coupes and utes are coming out of Australia.....and i hate the Commodore and Falcon

I think you're both right. Both Ford's European partners and Australian partners have some of the best products out there. They should bring the American hits to those countries (Mustang, Taurus) and the best cars from those countries to the US (Focus, Mondeo, Falcon)...

Sir Yappie says
I will take the Mustang thanks Gus...they are just too expensive here...AU$150,000 for a base V8 version upto AU$500,000 for the Shelby halo version....but the Taurus you can keep...the Falcon and Mondeo are much better !

Whats wrong with the styling guys, its looks great, atleast not bad. I am 27, married and hardcore fan of Ford but I am an average Joe like any other where I cant afford a second car say like 2 door coupe v8 stick RWD. But neither new Taurus nor Fusion impressed me and I need a car which is allrounder. I think this car best suits my needs. Styling, RWD, Auto or Stick, Sedan, V8 with 420hp ref: www.fpv.com.au
